Open Terminal and type

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/bean123ch/burg/ubuntu karmic main

Check Ubuntu version code
9.04 is jaunty
9.10 is karmic
10.04 is lucid

Return to Terminal and type

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bean123ch/burg

This statement needs connect to Internet.
This statement fail, but does not affect the installation.
When use sudo apt-get install to download and install there will have verification problems to BURG.

Return to Terminal and type

sudo apt-get update

If verification success, it will show above message.
If verification failure, it will show error message but it is not wrong.

Return to Terminal and type

sudo apt-get install burg-pc burg-themes burg-emu burg-common burg-themes-common

Installation screen will be set out
Press enter without any text when setup “Linux command line”
Use default “quiet splash” and press enter when setup “Linux default command line”
Press space bar to select hard drive when “GRUB install device”
The third is a critial step that you should know which hard drive will boot first if you have more than 1 hard drive.
If you have only 1 hard drive, just select /dev/sda and press enter should be fine.

Reboot you computer and shows the BURG boot up screen

As same as GRUB, BURG also can customize your boot up menu.
Open Terminal and type

sudo gedit /boot/burg/burg.cfg
sudo gedit /etc/burg.d/40_custom

copy the menuentry /boot/burg/burg.cfg to /etc/burg.d/40_custom

sudo chmod -x 10_linux 30_ps-prober
sudo update-burg

Press F1 shows Help Menu.
Press F2 shows Theme Select Menu.
Press F3 shows Resolution Menu.
We suggest DO NOT select Toggle Mode.
Toggle Mode will switch the themes to black and white color only.
